Well here it goes! My first post. So I recently stumbled across San Francisco based brand, “The Balm Cosmetics” (and can I just add, they are indeed, the bomb).

I used solely products by The Balm for my makeup in the above photos (my foundation is Lancome Teint Idole in 310 Bisque).

Products above:

  • Read My Lips gloss in BAM!
  • Betty-Lou Manizer Bronzer
  • What’s Your Type? Mascara in black
  • Put a Lid on It eye primer
  • Time Balm face primer
  • Downboy shadow/blush
  • Schwing liquid eyeliner in black
  • Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter
  • Autobalm face palette (eyes and brows)
  • The Balm Girls lipstick in Anita Boytoy
  • Necklace is from Lulus

Overall I was impressed! The packaging is well-constructed and cleverly designed (similar to Benefit Cosmetics’ cute vintagey flare). The face primer isn’t the slightest bit oily; It provides an even base, won’t budge, and makes your skin feel sooo soft. The eyeshadow is buildable as are the blush, bronzer, and mascara (super-volumizing). The eyeliner is super simple to apply and has great staying power. The highlighter provides a very natural glow. My favorite however had to be the lipstick… I was AMAZED at how moisturizing it is considering it had great staying power! I am always on the hunt for a good long-wear lip and this one gets two thumbs up from me! The Balm Cosmetics, you and I will definitely be having another date soon.
